Independent British Horology Crafted in South Oxfordshire

Founded in 2013 by professional designer and horological purist Piers Berry, Pinion Watch Company was born out of a desire to create mechanical wristwatches that embody distinct British design sensibilities, quiet typographic discipline, and genuine engineering substance.

Unlike corporate Swiss luxury conglomerates that charge tens of thousands of pounds for marketing campaigns and ambassador sponsorships, Pinion remains strictly independent. Every timepiece is conceived, designed, hand-assembled, and individually regulated in the South Oxfordshire atelier.

"With the Neutron Dual RD, we wanted a compact 38mm watch that feels authoritative on the wrist, yet offers genuine complication utility. The electroplated red dial paired with an engine-turned center transforms with shifting light, turning a practical 24-hour dual-time tool into a piece of enduring sculptural craftsmanship." — Piers Berry, Founder & Design Director, Pinion Watch Co.

The name Pinion refers to the fundamental gear that drives hands forward in mechanical watch movements. It reflects an obsession with the mechanical heartbeat beneath the dial, delivering uncompromised horological precision to discerning collectors.

★★★★★

"The 38mm case diameter is absolute perfection. It wears with remarkable balance on my 7-inch wrist. The electroplated red dial has subtle depth; in daylight it glows like fine wine, while the engine-turned center gives it an artisanal feel you normally only find in bespoke independents."

"I travel regularly between Edinburgh and Singapore. The second 24-hour time zone hand is delightfully intuitive to set with the crown. The ETA 2893-2 movement has kept time to +3 seconds per day over four months. Piers Berry's design eye is second to none."

Everything You Need to Know

Transparent answers about the Pinion workshop allocation, dispatch, and servicing.

Pinion operates as an independent atelier. To celebrate our ongoing British watchmaking heritage and expand our direct collector base in 2026, a limited release of 50 serialized timepieces is allocated directly to British horology enthusiasts without retail markup, showroom overhead, or dealer commissions.

The watch is driven by a top-grade Swiss ETA 2893-2 automatic calibre featuring 21 synthetic rubies, 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), and a 42-hour power reserve. Each movement is individually inspected, oiled, and regulated in 3 positions in our Oxfordshire atelier.

The main hour and minute hands indicate your local time. The secondary central hand points to the inner 24-hour track and can be set independently in one-hour increments using the crown, allowing you to track a secondary home or international time zone simultaneously.

Every Pinion Neutron Dual RD is backed by our comprehensive 2-Year International Manufacturer Warranty covering the mechanical movement and craftsmanship. Furthermore, UK collectors enjoy a statutory 14-day inspection window with full return privileges.
